Software Dev Engineer (ED), Amazon Devices - Ring & Blink (IoT)

Location: Onsite positions across EMEA, including France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Spain, and the UK; Cambridge, UK is listed as a location. These are not remote positions.

What you will do

• Develop software for privacy engineering, hypervisors, firmware, and IoT devices.
• Design and implement solutions for complex, large-scale distributed systems using technologies such as the AWS Nitro System and Ring products.
• Develop and optimize code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work on low-level system components, including operating systems and device drivers.
• Implement security measures to protect customer data and support regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or holding a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
• Expected graduation between August 2026 and November 2026, or graduation within the last 24 months.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Java, C, C++, C#, Objective-C, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or Go.
• Knowledge of data structures, basic algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Experience with embedded development in C/C++ or hardware troubleshooting and debugging.
• Experience with Linux, embedded development, firmware, and shell scripting.

Nice to have

• Technical internship or demonstrated project experience.
• Unix and scripting experience with Perl, shell, C, or C++.
• Knowledge of computer architecture or experience writing low-level drivers.
• Experience with RTOS or bare-metal programming.
