C++ Software Engineer with Linux (C++)

What you will do

• Develop features for Arista's Extensible Operating System (EOS), including internet and cloud data center traffic forwarding functionality.
• Write functional and design specifications, implement C and C++ solutions, and contribute to routing protocol projects.
• Create test plans and automated tests, monitor test execution, debug failures, and fix defects.
• Analyze customer network and system-test problems with support and test engineers and deliver software releases or patches.
• Own projects from definition through deployment, contribute to code and specification reviews, and help plan implementation and debugging work.
• Mentor new and junior engineers in the software development environment.

Requirements

• BSc, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of related postgraduate work experience.
• Knowledge of C and/or C++.
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and understanding of networking, including L2, L3 and commercial switching hardware fundamentals.
