Core Operations Manager

Location: Newport Beach, CA, USA

Salary: $215,000–$260,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end back-office controls for positions, cash, transactions, tax lots, P&L, and related investment data.
• Oversee daily reconciliations, exception management, break investigations, root-cause analysis, and timely resolution.
• Govern outsourced back-office providers through KPI and SLA management, issue escalation, service reviews, and workflow integration.
• Design and implement IBOR reconciliation controls, including matching criteria, tolerance thresholds, exception routing, aging standards, evidence, and escalation protocols.
• Partner with Technology and transformation teams on target-state workflows, reconciliation tooling, testing, data validation, and IBOR migration readiness.
• Build and develop the Core Operations team while delivering executive dashboards, procedures, playbooks, and governance routines.

Requirements

• 10+ years of back-office and reconciliation experience in asset management or investment banking.
• Deep experience with derivatives, fixed income, and cash products across multiple asset classes.
• Strong understanding of IBOR transactions and their impact on cash, positions, P&L, performance, and fund accounting.
• Experience defining or governing operating models and control frameworks.
• Experience partnering with Technology teams on workflow design, testing, and platform transformation.
• Strong communication and people-management skills.
