Recovery Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, or Umuahia, Nigeria

What you will do

• Lead nationwide or regional loan recovery operations and execute field recovery strategies to reduce portfolio at risk and non-performing loan ratios.
• Set recovery targets, KPIs, zonal plans, and daily activity expectations for field teams.
• Coordinate borrower visits, skip-tracing, location validation, escalations, restructuring, and settlement offers.
• Monitor field activity through digital tools and prepare recovery performance reports for senior management.
• Recruit, train, and supervise recovery officers, zonal supervisors, and contract agents.
• Improve route planning, customer tracking, reporting structures, and SOPs for escalations, repossessions, and collateral realization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• 6+ years of field recovery experience in the financial lending industry.
• At least 2–3 years in a senior leadership or field supervisory role.
• Familiarity with CBN Microfinance Guidelines, debt recovery laws, and ethical collection standards.
• Ability to ensure compliance with CBN Consumer Protection Regulations, credit risk guidelines, internal policies, and ethical collection practices.
