Regional Collections Manager (Fintech)

Location: Onsite in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria

What you will do

• Analyze regional portfolio performance and repayment trends, then develop daily, weekly, and monthly collection strategies.
• Conduct mystery market visits to assess sales quality, disabled lamps, repayment issues, and customer insights.
• Design, pilot, and operationalize collection processes that improve repayment rates and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with Area Business Managers and Field Sales Executives on product repossessions and delinquent customer interventions.
• Report product tampering and fraudulent practices, and facilitate corrective actions through established Risk processes.
• Train and follow up with field agents on collection calls, repossessions, and difficult customer cases; recruit cash collection centres in key areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Finance, Community Development, Communication, Credit Risk Management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar collections role, including field work and collaboration with rural customer communities.
• Experience in microfinance, fintech, banking, credit collections, or debt recovery is preferred.
• Fluency in English and the language of the assigned territory.
• Strong logical thinking, communication, people management, issue-tracking, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Familiarity with the assigned territory and ability to collaborate with multiple sales and cross-functional teams.
