Backend Engineer (SDE 1)

hirify.global is hiring for a backend engineering role.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy small- to mid-scale applications.
• Work with backend programming concepts and technologies such as Python, Go, Kafka, AWS, and MySQL.
• Design normalized database schemas and apply data modeling, indexing, and query optimization techniques.
• Solve data structures and algorithms problems while considering edge cases and decomposing solutions into testable functions.
• Write unit and integration tests and investigate software issues through debugging.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of hands-on software development experience.
• At least 2 years of recent and active software development experience.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications in any language or technology stack.
• Ability to explain time and space complexity and communicate technical reasoning clearly.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python or Go.
• Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle and normalized relational database schemas.
• Knowledge of MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Experience with data modeling, normalization, denormalization, indexing, and query optimization.
