UX Designer – Retail & Operational Systems (Figma)

Location: Fully remote, anywhere in Canada

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Research frontline retail workflows to identify friction, training gaps, adoption barriers, and operational improvement opportunities.
• Lead UX design for compliance-sensitive retail and financial transactions, including item intake, pricing, customer profiles, loyalty, inventory, loans, payments, and fraud prevention.
• Design task-oriented interfaces with conditional logic, validation, error prevention, keyboard-first navigation, and mobile support.
• Translate business, regulatory, risk, compliance, and legal requirements into clear workflows and usable interfaces.
• Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, annotated specifications, and production-ready visual designs.
• Validate concepts through usability testing and contribute to design systems and reusable component libraries.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional UX/UI design experience with operational workflows, internal tools, transaction-processing platforms, or similarly complex systems.
• Strong expertise in information architecture, form design, workflow optimization, conditional logic, and task-oriented interaction design.
• Hands-on experience creating and evolving design systems and reusable component libraries.
• Advanced visual design skills and the ability to translate regulatory, compliance, and business requirements into intuitive experiences.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Advanced proficiency with Figma, including Figma AI and Figma Make, plus experience with stateful prototyping and complex interaction sequences.

Nice to have

• Experience with item valuation, customer onboarding, identity verification, loyalty programs, payments, or similar transactional systems.
• Experience designing for non-desk users in high-volume retail or operational environments.
• Familiarity with Claude Code, Cursor, or other AI-assisted prototyping tools.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, conversational or multimodal interfaces, computer-vision experiences, and AI-assisted features.
• A portfolio showing strong UX/UI work, workflow optimization, and AI-assisted design iterations.
