Stationary Engineer

TL;DR

Stationary Engineer (Energy Infrastructure): Operating and maintaining high-pressure boilers, chillers, and distribution systems for district energy facilities with an accent on safety, system reliability, and water quality management. Focus on monitoring plant performance, mitigating equipment anomalies, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations during assigned watch shifts.

Location: Must be based in Baltimore, Maryland

Compensation: $49.94 per hour plus a 10% bonus target

What you will do

• Monitor and control pressure, temperatures, and flow for steam and chilled water systems.
• Maintain safe working conditions and perform regular equipment inspections.
• Oversee fuel oil and natural gas transfer and storage operations.
• Manage water quality procedures for boilers and cooling towers.
• Document operations, write work orders for repairs, and maintain precise logs.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers during backshifts and weekends.

Requirements

• Maryland First Class Stationary Engineer's License required
• Minimum five years of experience in operating stationary or marine boilers
• Ability to work extended or rotating shifts as necessary
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb heights up to 75 feet, and work in confined spaces
• Valid driver license in good standing

Nice to have

• EPA CFC Technician Certification (Universal or Type II and Type III)
• Experience with asbestos controls and metering regulatory requirements
