Identity & Access Management Engineer (Okta)

Location: Melbourne, Australia; hybrid work with an average of 2 days per week in the local hirify.global office

What you will do

• Administer Okta, including provisioning, deprovisioning, MFA resets, application access requests, and authentication, session, and device trust policies.
• Manage the full lifecycle of SaaS applications and maintain SAML, SCIM, and OIDC integrations, attribute mappings, and group mappings.
• Build joiner, mover, and leaver workflows using Okta Workflows, APIs, and SCIM to connect HRIS systems with Okta.
• Configure and improve Okta Identity Governance, including access request workflows and automated approval paths.
• Automate access certification reporting and collect directory and system log evidence for SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits.
• Support governance and troubleshooting across Google Workspace, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, Island, Jamf, cloud platforms, and device management systems.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience administering Okta or a similar identity provider.
• Experience with SAML, SCIM, OIDC, MFA, lifecycle policies, and authentication, session, and device trust policies.
• Experience onboarding SaaS applications end to end, including SSO setup, SCIM mapping, and provisioning troubleshooting.
• Experience with Okta Identity Governance or equivalent identity governance and access request tooling.
• Experience building HRIS-to-identity-provider lifecycle automation using Okta Workflows, APIs, or SCIM.
• Familiarity with SaaS governance, audit evidence, licence reviews, OAuth or shadow IT detection, cloud providers, networking, and device management.
