Identity and Access Management Architect (IDAM)

Location: Farnborough, United Kingdom — onsite 5 days per week. The role requires eligibility for UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, applicable residency requirements, and the right to work in the United Kingdom. Nationality requirements may apply where necessary for security obligations.

What you will do

• Design enterprise-scale identity and access management architectures for defence operations.
• Architect authentication, MFA, authorisation, RBAC, ABAC, PAM, identity governance, and entitlement management solutions.
• Lead IDAM modernisation programmes, platform evaluations, migrations, and technology transformation initiatives.
• Design cloud-ready, hybrid, multi-cloud, API-driven, and microservices-based identity solutions.
• Establish architecture standards, governance, design reviews, operational readiness, monitoring, and continuous improvement processes.
• Act as the technical authority in customer discussions, design workshops, and validation activities with defence programme stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience in identity and access management architecture and enterprise-scale IDAM solution design.
• Background in defence, aerospace, or government IDAM programmes.
• Expertise with Azure AD, Okta, Ping, ForgeRock, LDAP, Active Directory, OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
• Knowledge of hybrid and cloud-native identity, PAM, RBAC/ABAC, identity governance, access certification, and entitlement management.
• Experience with API security, service-to-service authentication, microservices identity, cryptography, encryption, and security protocols.
• Must meet applicable UK Government and contractual security, residency, nationality, and right-to-work requirements.
