Senior Associate, Financial Accounting

Location: Arlington, VA, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Current US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $74,000–$78,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Prepare monthly cash, salary, wages, and balance sheet reconciliations, including variance explanations.
• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Record cash receipts and maintain company credit card acquittals.
• Support project teams with QuickBooks setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Provide backup support for finance operations, including accounts payable payment releases.
• Support corporate, project, payroll, indirect cost, and external audits with schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.

Requirements

• Professional accounting experience with demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to move between technical details, processes, systems, and strategy.
• Experience with US GAAP; knowledge of IFRS is preferred, while government accounting regulations, CAS, and FAR are strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Exposure to treasury and foreign exchange, with the ability to analyze financial data and recommend improvements.
• Strong analytical, planning, financial management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint and QuickBooks.
• Experience with IFRS, government accounting regulations, CAS, or FAR.
