Software Engineer

Location: 100% onsite in Lexington, Massachusetts, United States; must live within 100 miles of Lexington. Occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

• Develop and operate a network emulation testbed for end-to-end software and hardware systems in challenged environments.
• Debug testbed issues, investigate system behavior, propose solutions, and implement fixes.
• Use networking, Linux, and software programming skills to support experimental activities.
• Analyze, plot, and visualize data from experiments.
• Assist technical staff with reports for government officials and senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the technical team and communicate findings clearly.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance and United States citizenship are required.
• 10 years of Linux command-line experience, network emulation experience, networking skills, and TCP/IP protocol experience.
• 10 years of software development experience with Python, Golang, or C++.
• 10 years of troubleshooting, software architecture and design, and software design or test-procedure documentation.
• 5 years of data and reporting experience, data analysis, data visualization, and work in a classified environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• J-series messaging, OMS/UCI, HAIPE devices, or radio and wireless systems.
• Prometheus, Grafana, container technologies, or distributed systems experience.
• Test and integration experience or automated testing framework experience.
• Networking certifications such as Network+, Security+, or CCNA.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
