Software Developer (ServiceNow)

Location: Virtual/remote, but candidates must be US citizens living within 100 miles of Lexington, Massachusetts, and be able to come onsite if needed for project work. There are no regular onsite requirements.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain ServiceNow applications, workflows, forms, and integrations, with a focus on HRSD Case Management, Lifecycle Events, and Employee Center.
• Translate HR service needs and business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with HRIS developers, business systems analysts, and HR stakeholders.
• Build scalable, reusable configurations aligned with ServiceNow architecture, development standards, governance, and HR data privacy requirements.
• Provide technical input on HR process optimization, automation opportunities, platform capabilities, and roadmap planning.
• Provide Tier 2 HRSD support, troubleshoot user-reported issues, and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in solution design, peer reviews, testing, releases, quality assurance, knowledge sharing, and platform enablement.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required; candidates must be able to obtain an active Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience across modules such as ITSM, CSM, or custom applications.
• 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow architecture, common development components, platform support, and troubleshooting.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and working within established architecture, development standards, and governance practices.
• Experience with development lifecycle practices including testing, peer review, deployment, release management, automation, process improvement, and stakeholder communication.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow HRSD experience, particularly with employee service delivery use cases.
• ServiceNow certification, especially Certified Application Developer or HRSD Implementation Specialist.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience with HR processes, confidential employee data, or regulated and secure environments.
