Accountant II (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid position based in the Richfield, Ohio office; on-site four days per week and remote one day per week.

What you will do

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and support month-end and year-end closing.
• Coordinate accounting matters and reporting with departments, locations, divisions, and external customers.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
• Perform financial analysis, ad-hoc reporting, and variance analysis to support management decisions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, internal control improvements, and updates related to accounting standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Safety Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; an Accounting degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, financial reporting standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
• Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Insurance accounting experience.
• Completed or ongoing progress toward a Certified Public Accountant designation.
