Senior Software Engineer, Java

Location: Leeds, England, United Kingdom; full-time, permanent, in-office position

What you will do

• Design and implement software solutions supporting fast-paced game development.
• Build and maintain production tools for task management, defect tracking, distributed video recording, reporting, and analytics.
• Contribute to software design guidelines and application architecture.
• Collaborate with technology teams across worldwide studios.
• Develop expertise in existing systems and introduce technologies that advance the applications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Java backend development experience.
• Strong command of Java, from low-level optimization to high-level architecture.
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate.
• Experience designing and scaling RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL or another major relational database, including query tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, change data capture pipelines, Java performance profiling, debugging, Linux environments, and production support.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of directed acyclic graphs, graph databases, FFMPEG, caching systems, Spring Cloud, Swagger, Snowflake, Apache Doris, or Debezium.
• Exposure to version control, CI/CD, build automation, service-oriented architecture, and multi-tier server applications.
