What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Contribute to system design and architecture decisions focused on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Translate business and product requirements into production-ready technical implementations.
- Write tested, efficient code, participate in code reviews, and address technical debt.
- Troubleshoot production systems and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers and improve engineering tools, processes, and practices.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot backend systems.
- Experience designing distributed systems or service-oriented architectures.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and backend service design principles.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and independent delivery skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom without current or future visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI-based software engineering, agent-based development, or automated code reviews.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, or DevOps practices.
- Experience in performance optimization, observability, reliability engineering, or on-call operations.
- Prior experience mentoring or leading engineers.
