Grid Operations Senior Advisor

Location: Pomona, California, US; hybrid work mode with required residence and work in California. The role may require extended assignments across the service territory and up to 25% field travel.

Salary: $182,800–$274,100 per year.

What you will do

• Lead subject matter experts and coordinate cross-functional teams on major grid operations initiatives and projects.
• Monitor and analyze grid performance, trends, risks, and resource workload.
• Develop and implement grid operations policies, procedures, tools, and best practices.
• Coordinate the development, testing, and deployment of advanced distribution, energy, and distributed energy resource management technologies, including AI use cases.
• Engage stakeholders, assess change impacts, build deployment consensus, and present recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
• Support General Rate Case testimony, respond to data requests, and mentor specialists, advisors, and project members.

Requirements

• At least ten years of experience in grid operations, planning, or engineering, including grid operations standards, regulations, and technologies.
• Experience with transmission and distribution operations and related policies, practices, and procedures.
• Experience with Outage Management, Energy Management, and Distribution Management Systems.
• Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Must work and reside in California unless otherwise noted.
• Must pass a NERC/CIP Personnel Risk Assessment or background investigation and complete required training before receiving unescorted access.

Nice to have

• Experience with Public Safety Power Shutoff protocols and tools.
• NERC Reliability Coordinator Certification.
