Data & AI Product Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $95,000–$115,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses and equity participation.

What you will do

• Build and operate Lakehouse data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, quality checks, and monitoring.
• Develop, test, document, and deploy product features from requirements through production.
• Build machine learning and generative AI components when required by the product roadmap, including performance and usefulness evaluations.
• Investigate defects, address root causes, add instrumentation, and improve product reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, engineers, and business users to clarify requirements and shape practical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, technical decisions, and documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, machine learning engineering, analytics engineering, or software development.
• Production experience with Python and SQL, including writing, testing, and debugging code independently.
• Experience with a cloud data platform, distributed data processing, data modeling, and data quality fundamentals.
• Experience with version control, branching, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development.
• Ability to work from a prioritized backlog, communicate progress, and raise risks early.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Databricks experience with workflows, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
• Databricks certification, MLflow, model serving, or generative AI application experience.
• Continuous integration and deployment experience for data workloads.
• Front-end development experience with React or a comparable framework.
• Experience supporting internal business users or working in architecture, engineering, or professional services operations.
