Mechanical Engineer - Ground Systems (MGSE) (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design mechanical ground equipment using 3D CAD tools, including NX.
• Create part drawings, assembly models, bills of materials, and documentation packages.
• Develop and review load paths, fixture stability, and stress margins using hand calculations and FEA.
• Support spacecraft integration, assembly, testing, and launch campaigns with hands-on mechanical expertise.
• Build and refine procedures for MGSE use in cleanroom and floor operations.
• Collaborate with systems, electrical, software, test, and manufacturing teams to support hardware integration.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical design or test support; a master’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software; CATIA is preferred.
• Understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerancing, structural analysis, manufacturing methods, materials, and inspection processes.
• Experience with MGSE in aerospace or satellite environments, FEA tools, lifting and rigging hardware, fluid or pneumatic systems, and integration and test operations.
