Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Lead the mechanical design and optimization of motors and actuators, including shafts, housings, bearing systems, gears, and transmissions.
• Perform structural, tolerance stack-up, fatigue, and bearing support analyses across the product operating envelope.
• Drive DFM/A from concept through production and develop designs for high-volume manufacturing.
• Evaluate stamping, casting, milling, turning, and other manufacturing methods with suppliers.
• Create detailed CAD models, GD&T-based drawings, and design documentation.
• Support prototyping, testing, validation, and continuous product improvement in collaboration with motor design, manufacturing, quality, and field applications engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably with drones, robotics, automotive, aerospace, or high-volume electromechanical products.
• Industry experience with rotating machinery, including bearings, gears, or transmissions.
• Hands-on knowledge of metal manufacturing methods and demonstrated experience designing high-volume products with DFM/A.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Onshape, including GD&T.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with electromagnetism and electric motor fundamentals.
• Experience with rotor dynamics, thermal analysis, or NVH.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for motor and actuator components and assemblies.
• Hands-on experience with prototype testing, validation, and design iteration in a production environment.
