Senior Accountant (Biotech)

Salary: $135,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Track and accrue R&D contracts and clinical trial costs in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, footnote disclosures, and audit materials.
• Research technical accounting topics and prepare accounting memos for complex and non-routine transactions.
• Support ERP optimization, close automation, variance analysis, and internal financial reporting.
• Contribute to registration statement filings, due diligence, and SOX 404 implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally including public accounting or public-company experience in biotech, pharma, or life sciences.
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP, the COSO framework, and IT general controls.
• Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently under deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and comfort receiving direction and feedback from accounting and finance leaders.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA.
• Experience with public-company reporting and SOX compliance.
• Big Four or national accounting firm experience.
