TL;DR
Senior Counsel Regulatory Affairs and Policy (Fintech): Advising on banking regulations and developing regulatory strategies for stablecoins, tokenized deposits, real-time payments, digital assets, and next-generation payment infrastructure with an accent on legal analysis, regulatory advocacy, and policy development. Focus on drafting comment letters and legislative amendments, preparing regulatory filings, engaging with regulators and policymakers, and managing complex legal and compliance risks.

Location: Washington, D.C., United States; in-office role

Base salary: $159,600–$296,400 per year, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

  • Advise hirify.global businesses, affiliates, senior management, and legal colleagues on banking statutes, regulations, regulatory guidance, and policy developments.
  • Provide legal and policy guidance on stablecoins, tokenized deposits, real-time payments, digital assets, and next-generation payment infrastructure.
  • Develop regulatory strategies and relationships with regulators, policymakers, trade associations, peer financial institutions, and government affairs stakeholders.
  • Draft comment letters, advocacy materials, policy positions, legislative amendments, and regulatory filings for new business initiatives and interpretive requests.
  • Prepare executives for meetings with government agencies and support hirify.global’s Regulatory Change program.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships and combine external advice with internal analysis to deliver practical legal guidance.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction; multiple active state issuers are listed as a certification.
  • Typically 8 or more years of industry-relevant experience.
  • Experience with legal compliance, regulatory compliance, legal risk, risk assessments, and regulatory analysis.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, critical-thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and influencing-through-expertise skills.
  • Must be able to work in the Washington, D.C. office; employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not available.
