Senior EKS Platform Engineer (AWS)

What you will do

• Design, operate, secure, upgrade, and scale Amazon EKS environments across AWS.
• Own Kubernetes cluster health, node configuration, runtime reliability, maintenance, and production readiness.
• Define Helm chart strategy and partner with DevOps on CI/CD integration with EKS, ECR, and Helm.
• Support application containerization and enable developer self-service through reusable templates, paved-path workflows, and documentation.
• Integrate EKS with AWS networking and services, including VPC, IAM, load balancing, and observability tooling.
• Troubleshoot production issues and maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, automation, incident response, disaster recovery planning, and audit controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud or platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or a related technical role.
• 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience, including production Kubernetes or EKS operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon EKS, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes deployment patterns, secrets management, ingress, storage, health checks, and autoscaling.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure and networking, Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or CloudFormation, and scripting with Bash; PowerShell and Python are desirable.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and Azure DevOps, plus strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET applications and Windows/IIS-to-container migration.
• Experience with AWS Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and eksctl.
• Experience with low- or zero-downtime deployment strategies.
• CKA, CKS, or AWS certifications in architecture, operations, security, or networking.
