Principal Platform Engineer

Salary: €130,000–€160,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Define and deliver the platform vision across hybrid cloud and bare-metal environments.
• Lead high-impact platform initiatives from design through implementation.
• Build self-service platform capabilities and standardized workflows for traditional, AI, and agentic use cases.
• Accelerate CI/CD and improve developer experience by reducing manual toil.
• Drive reliability and observability initiatives, including postmortems, SLOs, monitoring, and resilience patterns.
• Mentor platform engineers and influence technical standards across teams.

Requirements

• 16–20+ years of experience in platform, cloud, or infrastructure engineering, including hybrid cloud and bare-metal environments.
• Strong experience with CI/CD, automation, container orchestration, and infrastructure tooling including Kubernetes, Docker, ArgoCD, and Terraform.
• Experience managing production systems end-to-end and guiding technical decisions.
• Background in enterprise-grade security and compliance practices.
• Experience with high-scale distributed applications, SQL and NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, caching layers, and large-scale data pipelines.
• Experience in both startups and large, fast-moving enterprises, with a product mindset focused on internal users and platform adoption.
