Local Study Operations Manager TA Head

Location: United States; listed locations include Thousand Oaks, California, and Washington, D.C.

Annual base salary: $167,187–$226,194.

What you will do

• Lead and develop Local Study Operations Senior Managers, strengthening leadership capabilities and operational performance.
• Oversee delivery of the country clinical study portfolio, including scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and workload distribution.
• Provide strategic direction on portfolio monitoring, local action plans, escalations, study placement, site selection, and risk management.
• Coordinate global study strategy teams and country functional teams to align trial deliverables and priorities.
• Drive standardized processes, digital innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous operational improvement.
• Ensure regulatory and quality compliance, inspection readiness, and support during inspections.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree plus 3 years of clinical execution experience, or a master’s degree plus 7 years, bachelor’s degree plus 9 years, associate’s degree plus 12 years, or high school diploma/GED plus 14 years.
• At least 3 years of direct people management or team, project, program, or resource-allocation leadership experience.
• Preferred: 8+ years in life sciences or a medically related field, including 6 years of biopharmaceutical clinical research experience.
• Experience managing multiple teams or direct reports and overseeing clinical research vendors such as CROs, central labs, or imaging vendors.
• Experience with global clinical trials, site engagement, investigator relationships, and operational efficiency improvements.
