Staff Engineer (AI)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Must reside within commuting distance of the Irving corporate headquarters.

Salary: $156,998–$200,000 per year, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performance software systems.
• Define technical standards, architectural guidelines, engineering processes, and long-term technical roadmaps.
• Establish code review, automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native practices.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues, leading debugging, performance analysis, root cause analysis, and postmortems.
• Partner with SRE, DevOps, product, architecture, and engineering leadership teams to improve reliability, observability, incident response, and delivery.
• Identify opportunities for responsible AI adoption, including intelligent code suggestions, predictive maintenance, and automated testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a directly related field.
• 10 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience establishing technical standards, defining architectural guidelines, and embedding engineering best practices.
• 5 years of experience mentoring engineers across system architecture, performance optimization, and site reliability.
• 3 years of experience in technical leadership roles driving cross-functional initiatives without formal authority.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; residence within commuting distance of the Irving, Texas office is required.
