What you will do

• Estimate project effort, timelines, resources, budgets, and delivery commitments.
• Own projects from initiation through closure, managing scope, risks, resources, changes, and milestones.
• Act as the primary client contact and maintain customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead the design and implementation of technical solutions aligned with customer and business requirements.
• Guide software engineers through code reviews, mentoring, technical support, and complex issue resolution.
• Collaborate with product management, QA, and cross-functional teams on requirements and software delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 12+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in a similar software engineering leadership role.
• Hands-on experience with Micro Focus tools, COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, PL/I, Rexx, GDGs, VSAM, and sequential files.
• Strong programming, debugging, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Experience leading and mentoring technical teams and familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management frameworks.
• Experience with US Insurance, particularly Life and Annuity products and policy administration.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Vantage and wmA products.
• Experience leading end-to-end conversion and migration projects.
• Master’s degree, PMP or Scrum Master certification, or relevant technical certifications.
• Training in leadership, project management, or technical skills.
