People Operations Manager (AI)

Location: Remote; California preferred. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $140,000–$165,000 base for candidates in San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle; $120,000–$150,000 base elsewhere. Target annual bonus: 10% of salary.

What you will do

• Build and lead scalable onboarding, offboarding, job-change, and employee lifecycle processes.
• Use AI tools and HR systems to improve People Operations workflows and operational efficiency.
• Create policies, maintain audit readiness, and oversee compliance across a multi-state healthcare organization, with a focus on California.
• Develop and optimize physician onboarding programs with executive and clinical leadership.
• Manage outsourced vendors supporting home care, transportation, leave of absence, and other services.
• Lead annual open enrollment, including communications, system readiness, benefits compliance, and vendor coordination.

Requirements

• 5+ years of People Operations or HR experience in a fast-growing environment.
• Experience with California and multi-state employment law, policies, and employee handbooks.
• Strong knowledge of California wage and hour rules, leaves, recordkeeping, and related employment fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools and systems to improve process efficiency and scale.
• Strong data analytics and reporting skills using HR systems.
• Experience with Rippling, Greenhouse Onboarding, PEOs, and end-to-end open enrollment processes.

• Experience scaling an early- to mid-stage healthcare startup.
