Senior Data Scientist (MedTech)

Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico; hybrid work with on-site attendance at an hirify.global office at least three days per week

hirify.global develops the Omnipod wearable, tubeless insulin pump platform to support simpler and healthier diabetes management.

What you will do

• Develop analytics to identify device settings, usage patterns, failure modes, and clinical outcomes.
• Design and implement machine learning, pattern recognition, and statistical algorithms for insulin pump therapy optimization.
• Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to identify data sources and design data ingestion and storage platforms.
• Create data cleaning and preprocessing scripts and explore patterns using data science tools and custom programs.
• Present findings to leadership and non-specialist stakeholders in relation to business objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to other required duties.

Requirements

• At least five years of work and research experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or statistical inference.
• Proficiency with one or more analytical tools, such as Python, R, or Matlab.
• Proficiency in SQL and one or more relational databases, such as Oracle, Teradata, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of software engineering principles and practices, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with leaders and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical device or healthcare industries.
• Experience with C, C++, C#, or Java.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, or Cognos.
