EOG Event Management Triage Engineer (IT Operations)

Location: United States; travel to client locations is required

What you will do

• Monitor enterprise applications and technology stacks and triage incidents in real time.
• Investigate performance data across multiple monitoring platforms to support incident response.
• Collaborate with major incident management, monitoring, problem management, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
• Escalate critical alerts to Veterans Affairs stakeholders and support enterprise incident resolution.
• Refine alert thresholds, reduce false positives, and escalate monitoring-tool issues to support teams.
• Participate in shift-based support, including weekends, holidays, and off-hours when required.

Requirements

• Only U.S. citizens are eligible; the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus 5+ years of professional experience, or 13+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration and operations, performance monitoring, trend analysis, and alert generation.
• 5+ years of application or platform support, monitoring-tool configuration, change control, and major incident response.
• 5+ years of experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex enterprise-scale applications.
• 5+ years of monitoring and troubleshooting with at least two APM tools, plus experience across Unix/Linux, Windows, and mainframe environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise ITSM tools, especially ServiceNow.
• Experience with service virtualization, AWS or Azure, containers, SaaS, or PaaS implementations.
• Experience managing virtual teams or supporting IT operations in a healthcare environment.
