Senior Systems Engineer-Avionics

Location: Letchworth, United Kingdom; hybrid working with flexitime and a condensed work week where applicable.

Defense and aerospace engineering organization delivering flight recorders, air data computers, video management systems, computing systems, mission displays, and video recorder products.

What you will do

• Define system architectures based on required functionality and maintain system requirements and interface design documentation.
• Develop integration, verification, acceptance, and qualification plans and test procedures.
• Participate in system and subsystem testing and produce test reports.
• Support system, hardware, and software requirements and design activities, including certification work.
• Provide technical support for subcontracted development and assess subcontracted deliverables.
• Coordinate design review criteria, define work packages, support project planning, and mentor systems engineers.

Requirements

• Experience eliciting and defining high-quality system requirements.
• Proven systems engineering experience across the full system development lifecycle.
• Ability to write formal project documentation.
• Knowledge of validation and verification methodologies.
• Degree or HND in an appropriate subject, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of aerospace standards including ARP4754, DO-254, DO-178, DO-326, DO-160, and ED112a.
