What you will do

  • Extend the online calibration node with robust production software for autonomous vehicle fleets.
  • Adapt and integrate calibration and state-estimation algorithms for continuous or on-demand onboard execution.
  • Handle asynchronous sensor data, accelerator-generated features, and noisy, time-varying calibration parameters.
  • Improve validation, persistence, interfaces, diagnostics, logging, and fleet-level observability.
  • Profile and optimise compute, memory, storage, and latency usage on constrained hardware-accelerated platforms.
  • Build simulation, replay, bench, and on-vehicle tests covering nominal and failure scenarios.

Requirements

  • Practical expertise in sensor calibration, state estimation, or a closely related robotics domain.
  • Strong understanding of Kalman-family filters, Bayesian estimation, smoothing, robust estimation, or factor-graph optimisation.
  • Strong modern C++ skills and proficiency in Python for prototyping, analysis, and test tooling.
  • Experience productionising algorithm-heavy robotics software for vehicles, robots, drones, aerospace systems, or comparable edge platforms.
  • Experience with asynchronous, high-throughput sensor data and hardware-accelerated pipelines.
  • Strong software architecture, API design, testing, debugging, performance profiling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with visual odometry, SLAM, localisation, sensor fusion, ego-motion estimation, or geometric computer vision.
  • Experience with GPU, DSP, NPU, zero-copy, or shared-memory robotics workloads.
  • Experience with embedded Linux, edge-state management, rollback, automotive safety, or fault-injection testing.
