Senior Director, AP English Language and Seminar Generalist, Curriculum and Assessment

Location: Fully remote within the United States; candidates near hirify.global offices may choose a hybrid schedule with in-office work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Travel is required 6–8 times per year, plus up to two additional weeks for AP Reading.

Salary: $112,000–$165,000 per year, adjusted based on location, experience, qualifications, and market data.

What you will do

• Lead assessment development and approve final AP English Language and Seminar test items and forms.
• Develop, review, and manage formative and summative assessment content and scoring materials with internal teams and external subject-matter experts.
• Lead test development committee meetings, train committee members, and manage content revisions through completion.
• Plan and lead AP Reading, including student-response scoring, workflow coordination, and post-scoring publications.
• Monitor exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and reader reliability; lead improvement initiatives and collaborate on cut-score development.
• Refine the course framework and collaborate on new instructional products and resources for AP English Language and Seminar.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a directly related discipline; a doctorate is strongly preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work, with expertise in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a closely related field.
• Strong written and oral communication, organizational, planning, proofreading, collaboration, and technical skills.
• Experience implementing processes, managing project plans and schedules, and maintaining tracking documentation.
• Ability to train and mentor educators and collaborate effectively with academics, psychometricians, and other stakeholders.
• Authorization and eligibility to work in the United States are required.
