TL;DR
Fund Accountant, Private Equity (Fund Accounting): Preparing and reviewing private equity fund accounting deliverables, including consolidations, NAV packages, investor allocations, capital calls, distributions, fees, and reconciliations with an accent on accurate financial data processing and adherence to fund documents. Focus on calculating management fees and carried interest, allocating P&L across NAV cycles, and coordinating deliverables with clients, banks, auditors, and other third parties.
Location: Toronto, ON, Canada
Salary: CAD 60,000–CAD 88,000 yearly

What you will do
- Review private equity client financial data and load it into internal accounting systems.
- Set up, prepare, and review consolidations across investment structures using applicable consolidation rules.
- Process fund expense payments, book journal entries, and reconcile investments and cash with third parties.
- Prepare capital call and distribution calculations, notices, fee schedules, management fee calculations, and carried interest calculations.
- Prepare investor allocations for each NAV cycle and produce NAV packages and other deliverables required by service-level agreements.
- Collaborate with clients, banks, auditors, and other third parties to complete deliverables smoothly.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in financial accounting, fund accounting, or audit.
- Strong Excel skills.
- CPA, ACCA, or CA qualification, ideally completed or in progress.
- Experience with private equity or hedge funds is preferred but not essential.
- Experience with Investran is an advantage.
