Associate, Fund Accounting

Location: Hybrid in Mississauga or Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 44,000–65,000 per year

What you will do

• Perform cash and holdings reconciliations across core systems, custodians, prime brokers, and investment managers.
• Maintain investment accounting records, including trade entry, securities data, and holdings data.
• Calculate full NAV, including income and expense accruals, and process investor subscriptions and redemptions.
• Upload price files, analyze variances using Bloomberg terminals, and generate daily or monthly client reports.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, support audits, and research and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage client and counterparty queries, assist with new-client implementations and special projects, and test system releases.

Requirements

• Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to provide a valid work or study permit where applicable.
• Post-secondary degree required; Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Fund accounting experience and exposure to hedge funds, mutual funds, or investment accounting are assets.
• Thorough understanding of exchange-traded products, derivatives, and OTC instruments.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and exposure to financial statements and notes.
• Strong attention to detail, efficient work ethic, communication skills, and proficient written and verbal English.
