Senior Director, PMO - Data Center Infrastructure (AI)

Location: US; remote-first workplace with flexible working arrangements.

Salary: $220,000–$270,000 USD base salary per year, plus potential bonus, equity, and/or commission.

What you will do

• Lead the Data Center Infrastructure PMO and establish governance structures, operating rhythms, reporting standards, stage gates, and ownership models.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders across data center development, design and construction, engineering, power and utilities, procurement, supply chain, finance, legal, commercial, security, network, and operations.
• Drive integrated planning across site acquisition, utility interconnection, design, permitting, long-lead equipment, procurement, construction, commissioning, network readiness, security readiness, and operational handoff.
• Own portfolio visibility through executive dashboards, business reviews, steering committee materials, risk tracking, dependency management, and decision reporting.
• Facilitate escalation meetings and leadership forums, resolve misalignment and blockers, and maintain documentation of decisions, actions, owners, and timelines.
• Build, lead, and mentor a PMO team of program managers, portfolio managers, delivery managers, and program analysts.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in program management, PMO leadership, infrastructure delivery, data center development, construction program management, cloud infrastructure, or large-scale capital programs.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience managing senior program managers or cross-functional PMO teams.
• Experience with large-scale data center, hyperscale, colocation, cloud, AI infrastructure, telecom, energy, or other mission-critical infrastructure programs.
• Proven ability to align senior stakeholders, influence without direct authority, and drive accountability across matrixed organizations.
• Experience with portfolio governance, executive reporting, delivery assurance, risk and dependency management, decision tracking, change governance, CapEx planning, forecasting, procurement, and vendor risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, judgment, ownership, urgency, and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-scaling environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale data centers, AI infrastructure, GPU clusters, cloud regions, or high-density compute environments.
• Knowledge of data center power infrastructure, utility interconnection, substations, generators, switchgear, cooling systems, and MEP dependencies.
• Experience with PMO tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, MS Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, or Tableau.
• PMP, PgMP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification.
