Salary: $137,300–$228,900 per year, with potential bonus or incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead and edit coverage of economic policy, federal agencies and the relationship between government and the U.S. economy.
• Oversee reporters covering the White House, Congress, Federal Reserve and broader economic developments.
• Drive breaking news, accountability reporting, explanatory journalism and ambitious enterprise coverage.
• Edit stories for accuracy, fairness, clarity, strong framing and high journalistic standards.
• Develop reporters by strengthening sourcing, story concepts and storytelling.
• Collaborate with Politics & Government, Visuals and Content Strategy teams on digitally optimized journalism.

Requirements

• Strong track record editing high-impact journalism in economics, business, public policy or politics.
• Exceptional editorial judgment and experience shaping breaking news and enterprise reporting.
• Deep understanding of economic policy and the institutions shaping the U.S. economy.
• Experience managing reporters and developing distinctive, agenda-setting journalism.
• Strong communication, collaboration, conceptual-editing and line-editing skills.
• Ability to explain complex topics in an accessible and engaging way, with familiarity with audience data and digital publishing strategies.
