What you will do

• Cover major political, security and economic developments across East Asia, with a primary focus on China and its international impact.
• Report on diplomacy, security, trade, technology and regional affairs.
• Produce breaking news, authoritative analysis, enterprise reporting and explanatory journalism.
• Help U.S. audiences understand the implications of developments across the region.
• Identify emerging trends and storylines shaping East Asia and the wider world.
• Collaborate with international correspondents, editors and visual journalists on multi-format storytelling.

Requirements

• Track record of high-impact international reporting.
• Professional experience covering East Asia.
• Ability to report independently in a fast-moving news environment.
• Excellent reporting, writing and storytelling skills.
• Sophisticated understanding of regional politics, economics and security issues.
• Strong communication skills, collaboration skills and commitment to accuracy, fairness and high journalistic standards.
