TL;DR
Sr. Nondestructive Test Technician (Nuclear): Performing nondestructive testing and material examinations for manufactured components in the commercial nuclear power industry with an accent on PT, MT, UT, radiographic inspection, and quality documentation. Focus on calibrating test equipment, evaluating testing failures, interpreting ASTM and ASME standards, and recording accurate results in laboratory and ERP systems.

Location: Middleburg Heights, Ohio, United States. Applicants must be U.S. persons under U.S. export-control regulations.

Salary: $29.00–$32.00 per hour.

What you will do

  • Prepare specimens and perform penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, radiographic, mechanical, chemical, and metallurgy testing as assigned.
  • Review purchase orders, internal test orders, job routers, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards before testing.
  • Inspect machined and blueprint items through visual and dimensional examination and identify material defects.
  • Select, calibrate, and operate nondestructive testing and measurement equipment.
  • Document test results accurately in the laboratory database and ERP system.
  • Monitor job time, maintain process control, evaluate testing failures, and support production and shipping priorities.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in quality control practices.
  • Working knowledge of materials and generally accepted quality specifications.
  • Ability to use common hand and bench measurement tools safely and accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret ASTM, ASME, customer-specific, and other industry testing requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform work involving standing and sitting.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by applicable U.S. export-control regulations.

Nice to have

  • Technical or trade school education.
  • Machine shop experience and knowledge of machining capabilities.
  • Experience in the commercial nuclear power generation industry.
  • Knowledge of fastener specifications.
