Facilities Technician (Defense Manufacturing)

Location: Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $80,000–$112,000 USD annually, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed-air, utility, and building systems.
• Respond to alarms, outages, leaks, equipment failures, and other facility incidents, safely isolating affected equipment or areas when required.
• Support facility construction projects, laboratory buildouts, workspace changes, shutdowns, utility tie-ins, and infrastructure improvements.
• Install and relocate furniture, lab benches, shelving, workstations, equipment supports, electrical receptacles, and authorized 120V power drops.
• Support manufacturing equipment moves, staging, installation, anchoring, and utility connections.
• Operate and inspect forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other facilities equipment while coordinating vendors and maintaining safe work areas.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, building operations, mechanical or electrical trades, construction, or a similar hands-on role.
• Hands-on experience with facility or industrial equipment, preventive maintenance, and field troubleshooting.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and common maintenance equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing ladders, working from lifts, and working in mechanical or industrial spaces.
• Strong safety awareness, including following EHS procedures, PPE requirements, safe work practices, and lockout/tagout requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple work requests and collaborate with Facilities, Security, Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, and vendors.

Nice to have

• Trade experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical maintenance, millwright work, carpentry, or a related field.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, industrial, laboratory, or production environments.
• Experience with compressed-air modifications, plumbing repairs, equipment anchoring, or 120V receptacle installation.
• Experience maintaining forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, or similar equipment.
• CMMS experience and OSHA, forklift, scissor-lift, NFPA 70E, or LOTO training or certification.
