Engineering Manager (AI Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in Mountain View, CA or San Francisco, CA, United States

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 estimated annual base salary, plus equity

hirify.global is building an AI-native healthcare operating system covering clinical documentation, patient and revenue workflows, autonomous revenue cycle management, and integrations with more than 60 EHRs.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery for Orchestrator, including referral intake, the coordinator-facing application, voice automation, and EHR write-back.
• Grow the engineering team through hiring, interviewing, closing candidates, onboarding, and raising the technical bar.
• Stay hands-on through design documentation, code reviews, and occasional production incidents.
• Define the integration strategy across HL7 v2, FHIR, X12, and UI automation, making trade-offs between durable interfaces and tactical solutions.
• Scale the architecture as referral volume, customers, and integrations grow.
• Work with health system IT, interface analysts, clinical operations leaders, and customers to turn varied referral workflows into a generalized product.

Requirements

• Direct experience building and supporting software integrations with at least one major EHR platform.
• Working fluency with HL7 v2 message structure, FHIR resources, interface engines, and site-specific healthcare customization.
• Strong full-stack engineering background, including production services and user interfaces.
• At least 1 year managing engineers and 5 or more years as an individual contributor engineer.
• Comfort working with ambiguous requirements derived from observing real coordinator workflows.
• Experience building products for multiple customers rather than one-off implementations.

Nice to have

• Experience with document AI or OCR pipelines at scale.
• Experience with voice agents or telephony infrastructure, including SIP, IVR navigation, or real-time speech.
• Background in referral management, prior authorization, care coordination, or revenue cycle.
• Experience supporting large health systems through security reviews and integration onboarding.
