Engineering Manager (GI)

Location: San Francisco HQ; hybrid work with 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $212,000–$318,000 annually, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Build and lead a team of approximately five engineers working across React Native mobile applications and Go and JavaScript backend services.
• Define and launch a new gastrointestinal care product and vertical from scratch.
• Partner with Product, Design, Marketing, and senior leadership across San Francisco, Montreal, and Bangalore.
• Develop a minimum lovable product combining software, AI solutions, and licensed care providers.
• Design and execute A/B experiments to improve product usage and member outcomes.
• Establish engineering practices for CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, performance, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of experience managing a team of approximately five or more engineers in a fast-paced, product-focused environment.
• Strong React Native, mobile, client-side, BFF, or full-stack web engineering experience with member-facing products at scale.
• Experience owning a major product surface end-to-end, from architecture and UX through experimentation and production reliability.
• Ability to design, run, and interpret A/B experiments, including sample sizes, interference effects, and decision rules.
• Experience with React Native performance and architecture, GraphQL, SDUI patterns, Python, TypeScript/Node.js, AWS, DevOps, and regulated environments such as HIPAA-compliant healthcare.

Nice to have

• Experience operating a shared product surface extended by multiple teams.
• Experience using AI development agents such as Cursor or Claude Code, including prompting, agent review, and harness engineering.
