Business Intelligence Support Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid at the MI-Admin Office Building (AOB), with work from a home office and occasional office attendance for important departmental meetings or team-building events. Applicants must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately.

Salary: $70,000–$87,000 annually, with annual bonus potential based on performance.

What you will do

• Support research, analysis, and development of business intelligence solutions and the IBI data warehouse.
• Identify data quality improvement opportunities and help resolve data quality problems.
• Analyze the impact of changes to actuarial, underwriting, sales, processing, and claims procedures and systems on data and reporting requirements.
• Provide training and support to BI solution end users and develop user documentation and communication plans.
• Assist with proposals, business cases, data management quality assurance standards, and root cause analysis.
• Maintain Competency Center procedures and communications documentation.

Requirements

• College-level coursework in business administration, information systems, statistics, insurance, or a related field.
• Programming experience with SAS, Easytrieve, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and control languages such as JCL.
• Experience creating web pages, auditing and reconciling data, analyzing procedures, preparing reports and project plans, and performing acceptance testing.
• Knowledge of technology project lifecycles, analytic and project management tools, data management quality assurance standards, and process mapping tools.
• Ability to analyze business process flows, use BI tools such as SQL, Data Studio, SAS, and Oracle BI, identify coding issues, and recommend system improvements.
• Must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in business administration, information systems, statistics, insurance, or a related field.
• Experience documenting business processes and working with actuarial, claims, underwriting, or other insurance processes.
• Knowledge of property and casualty insurance products, trends, and practices.
