Senior Cloud & Hybrid Network Engineer (Azure/Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid, based in Mount Laurel, New Jersey; at least 4 days per week in the office

Salary: $135,000–$273,000 per year. Additional disclosed ranges are $135,000–$231,000 and $164,000–$273,000, depending on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Architect and implement secure network connections across IL-5 CUI, IL-6 Secret, classified cloud, and on-premise environments.
• Configure hybrid connectivity between classified infrastructure and cloud providers using transport systems such as STREN and SDREN.
• Design virtual networks connecting legacy hypervisor and VM environments with modern cloud-based deployments.
• Configure Kubernetes routing, ingress and egress, load balancing, network policies, CNI, and service mesh connectivity across isolated systems.
• Support secure cross-domain data flows between unclassified, CUI, and classified environments.
• Collaborate with software and systems engineering teams to modernize tactical combat systems through microservices and cloud-native deployments.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of full-time professional experience.
• Experience configuring cloud networking and security in major providers, particularly Azure government and classified regions.
• Deep knowledge of VNETs, VPCs, peering, VPNs, ExpressRoute, hardware routing, and multiple protocols including QoS, Multicast, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, VXLAN/EVPN, and IPv6.
• Hands-on Kubernetes networking experience, including CNI, load balancers, network policies, and service mesh.
• Experience managing networking across legacy hypervisors and VMs as well as containerized workloads.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Navy combat system networks, especially Aegis or Ship Self-Defense System.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher.
• Terraform, Ansible, Security+, CISSP, or DoD 8570/8140 compliance experience.
• Experience leading technical teams and working with Navy systems and government program offices.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI, LLMs, Jenkins, Jira, VMware vSphere, and Azure VM or container deployments.
