Senior Manager, Accounting & Reporting

Location: Remote within the United States; work from home or the New York City office.

Salary: $134,000–$168,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Prepare audit-ready technical accounting memos, analyses, policies, and financial reporting under FASB and SEC requirements.
• Support accurate GAAP-based monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for investors, lenders, and management.
• Act as a primary contact for the external audit, including financial statement preparation, technical positions, and audit timelines.
• Lead controllership process reviews and establish procedures that improve close-cycle efficiency, accuracy, completeness, and internal controls.
• Use AI tools to generate financial insights and improve controllership workflows.
• Own technical and confidential close areas including equity compensation, payroll, bonuses, vendor rebates, capitalized software, leases, and revenue recognition.

Requirements

• CPA required.
• 6+ years of progressive experience across external audit, financial reporting, technical accounting, and controllership.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 842, ASC 350-40, and applicable FASB and SEC guidance.
• NetSuite or a comparable large ERP and advanced Excel skills required.
• Ability to work independently, manage confidential matters, and combine technical accounting expertise with hands-on close execution.
• Experience incorporating Claude or other AI tools into processes.

Nice to have

• Big Four or national accounting firm audit experience with industry exposure.
• Public company or IPO-readiness experience, including SOX, controls design, and disclosure.
• E-commerce, CPG, or direct-to-consumer industry experience.
