Software Engineer (P2P)

What you will do

• Build a next-generation peer-to-peer search stack with no centralized index.
• Develop self-organizing search capabilities for text, images, chats, locations, and other data.
• Design and implement distributed indexing, databases, and CRDT-based systems.
• Build high-performance, highly concurrent networking code and protocols.
• Test, evaluate, and optimize peer-to-peer network protocols.
• Work with the Holepunch stack, including hyperdht, hyperswarm, hypercore, hyperbee, hyperdrive, and udx-native.

Requirements

• Experience with or strong understanding of peer-to-peer systems and Kademlia DHT.
• Knowledge of distributed indexing and relevant research, including skip graphs, prefix hash trees, m-LIGHT, or locality-sensitive hashing.
• Understanding of distributed databases, CRDTs, TCP/IP, multiplexing, NAT traversal, and encryption.
• Knowledge of information retrieval and search engine architecture, including ranking, inverted indexes, and lexical versus semantic search.
• Interest in research combined with a practical bias toward building software.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work remotely worldwide.
