Software Engineer (Cloudflare Network Interconnect)

Location: Hybrid; available in Austin, Texas, London, UK, or Lisbon, Portugal

Salary: €54,000–€75,000 annual salary for Portugal-based hires

What you will do

• Build and extend systems that provision, monitor, and orchestrate private network interconnects at scale.
• Develop services supporting dedicated connections between enterprise customer networks and hirify.global's global network.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including system design, documentation, coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Network Engineering, and Infrastructure teams.
• Operate production systems under a Run What You Build model and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Systems-level programming experience with Rust, Go, C, or C++.
• Understanding of IP networking fundamentals, including BGP, Layer 3 routing, cross-connects, VLANs, and overlay tunnels.
• Experience building, deploying, and debugging distributed systems.
• Experience supporting services with direct customer impact and participating in an on-call rotation.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a growth-oriented and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Austin, London, or Lisbon; offer-stage candidates may need to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.

Nice to have

• BGP configuration, route policy, or peering operations experience.
• Network infrastructure provisioning or automation experience and familiarity with inventory or IPAM systems such as NetBox.
• Experience with AWS Direct Connect, GCP Partner Interconnect, Azure ExpressRoute, GRE, VXLAN, or other tunnel technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipelines, or observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, ClickHouse, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
