Software Engineer II, Fullstack (App Experience) (React)

Location: Remote Canada; candidates must reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.

Salary: CAD $133,000–$183,000 base pay per year.

What you will do

• Break larger projects into tasks and deliver them in multiple phases.
• Build and ship web and mobile app experiences across Affirm’s Marketplace and App Experience products.
• Collaborate with product management, design, analytics, and engineering teams on product decisions, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
• Create and monitor operational metrics, support artifact availability, and participate in on-call efforts.
• Contribute to engineering growth and development, including participation in interviews.

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Experience shipping mobile applications using native or cross-platform technologies such as React Native.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching scalable APIs with languages such as Kotlin or Python.
• Ability to work across large codebases, debug code, conduct code reviews, and write clear, tested, extensible software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; a related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
