Lead Propulsion Analyst (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Seattle, Washington, United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 annually, plus equity.

Building satellite infrastructure for generating and distributing energy and high-bandwidth optical data in Low Earth Orbit.

What you will do

• Lead and support structural, fluid, and thermal engineering simulation efforts for rocket engines and vehicles.
• Conduct, document, and present static, thermal, dynamic, and fatigue analyses using FEA, CFD, thermal modeling, and first-principles methods.
• Drive required analyses throughout engine component design cycles.
• Work with hardware and test teams to anchor models against real-world data and improve designs.
• Produce clear engineering documentation to reduce missed issues and improve analysis efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• Strong experience with engineering simulation and numerical analysis methods.
• Experience with 0-D and 1-D thermal and fluid networks.
• Proficiency with ANSYS and/or Thermal Desktop.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
• Must satisfy applicable U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience developing enterprise-level simulation standards and engineering processes.
• Familiarity with aerospace, defense, automotive, energy, or industrial certification environments.
• Working knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to deliver against an aggressive schedule.
