Avionics Test Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $126,000–$188,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop frameworks and infrastructure for qualification and acceptance testing of Terran R avionics components.
• Design simulation circuits, auxiliary test equipment, test harnesses, mechanical fixtures, enclosures, and system validation tools.
• Work with hardware and software engineers to derive test requirements and methodologies.
• Create and maintain test plans and procedures for avionics systems.
• Integrate, commission, and operate test-rack hardware and software for component- and system-level functional testing.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with electronics hardware simulation or testing.
• Familiarity with data acquisition and control platforms such as NI or Beckhoff.
• Experience using power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and electronic loads.
• Familiarity with communication protocols including Ethernet, CAN, UART, and SPI.

Nice to have

• Experience with Altium Designer or another schematic capture and PCB design tool.
• Experience with analog sensors such as pressure transducers, RTDs, and accelerometers.
• Embedded software development and avionics systems integration experience.
• Python or MATLAB scripting for data acquisition, recording, and analysis.
• Wire harness design or NX CAD experience.
